Gilly and Little Sam were last seen waiting in the lobby as big Sam toured the library alone. Apparently, women and children can’t be trusted around books. In any case, Gilly has come a long way from Craster’s Keep, where she had never even seen a lake, let alone an ocean or the a city. Along the way, Gilly and Sam fell in love and shared the sweetest and most unlikely romance in the Seven Kingdoms.

We all assume that Sam will discover some piece of knowledge pivotal to the looming war with the White Walkers while rooting around in the Citadel archives, but it’s unclear how long that will take. Sam and Gilly have remained steadfastly by each other’s sides, but if Sam has to take a more active role in the war, might they be separated? The survival of Gilly and Little Sam is directly tied to what big Sam does in Season 7.

If Sam remains at the Citadel for most of the year, Gilly and the baby will probably be safe. We expect that to happen, as it’s unlikely that the show would send Sam from the Wall to Oldtown just to send him immediately back.

That’s not to say there are no dangers in Oldtown. In the books, Euron raids parts of the Reach, and there’s a Faceless Man running around the city. Still, there’s little reason for anyone to target Gilly. Barring something unforeseen, we expect her to make it though okay.
