Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones Season 7? Odds on 50 characters

Daario is a curious case, mainly because we don’t know if he’s even coming back for Season 7. Had I watched Season 6 in a vacuum, I would guess his time onscreen was over. The last time we saw him, Daenerys was letting him down easy, saying thanks-but-no-thanks to a friends-with-benefits arrangement and leaving him in Meereen to maintain order. He’s an important character, but he’s not that important, and I figured the show would leave him in peace while it followed Daenerys and company across the Narrow Sea.

And that may be what happens. But actor Michiel Huisman has given a couple of cagey interviews that make me think there’s more to Daario’s story. One scenario I can picture: Jorah Mormont, who we’re pretty damn sure is coming back for Season 7, somehow cures his greyscale and returns to Meereen looking for Daenerys. Daario, wistful but dignified, tells him to follow her to Westeros. Exit Daario.

In that scenario, Daario would seem safe from death. But this is Game of Thrones, and I don’t think it would be above the show to check in with Daario only to kill him. After all, Slaver’s Bay is still an inhospitable place, and with Dany’s dragons gone, her old enemies may become emboldened. Daario could be in for a knife in the dark.

Or, if you want to combine those two scenarios, Jorah could stop by Meereen and find it in chaos, whereupon Daario could decide to join him on another road trip, this time across the Narrow Sea.

So I’m not sure whether Daario’s is going to survive Season 7, but I’ll bet money that we see him at least one more time.
