Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones Season 7? Odds on 50 characters

This one was tricky. I mean, is Benjen even coming back for Game of Thrones Season 7? Before he came to Bran and Meera’s rescue in Season 6, we hadn’t seen him since Season 1. It was nice, in a way, and hilarious, since the trivia question “What character spent the longest time offscreen?” will now have a definitive answer. But it was a cameo appearance. Cameos don’t come back season after season. Then they stop being cameos, and start being characters who take up valuable screen time that could be spent on people we know.

But then I realized—Benjen’s not coming back next year. Bran’s headed south of the Wall and the show will likely go with him, leaving no important characters in the far North. If Benjen shows back up, it’ll be in Season 8, after the Wall falls and battle is joined for the last time. That means that he’s guaranteed to at least survive Season 7, because he won’t even be on screen to die.

I mean, unless we have some rider come from beyond the Wall and tell a tale about how he died at the hands of this large oversized wight who bashed his head in while yelling, “Hodor hodor hodor.”
