Randyll Tarly

Randyll Tarly is the Lord of Horn Hill and Samwell Tarly’s abusive father—you’ll recall that he ordered the “disappointing” Samwell to join the Night’s Watch under threat of death. Randyll is severely displeased when Sam returns to Horn Hill, and infuriated when he learns that Sam has had a child with a wildling.
Although a great general, Randyll Tarly has a habit of choosing the losing side. He fought alongside the Targaryens in Robert’s Rebellion, and later declared his support for Renly Baratheon at the beginning of the War of the Five Kings. Since House Tarly is a vassal family of House Tyrell, he’ll be bound to support Olenna Tyrell and Daenerys Targaryen once the latter arrives in Westeros.
Daenerys certainly doesn’t look to be on the losing side, but you never know. As a battle commander, Randyll will likely be put into the thick of things, but with the Mother of Dragons on his side, he’s probably safe for now, in part because there’s a decent chance he won’t show up at all. If he does, look for him to bemoan his betrayal by the discarded Samwell, who lifted the family’s Valyrian steel sword and relocated his little family to the Citadel.
Chance of survival: 70%
