Varys

Varys is a wild card of a character, which makes it hard to predict how he’ll fare next year. On the one hand, he’s sailing into battle with the rest of Daenerys’ fleet, which is dangerous. On the other hand, we’ve rarely seen anything surprise Varys, which can make him hard to kill. (Especially with his magical teleporter.) And at the moment, our favorite eunuch has surrounded himself with some very powerful allies in Houses Targaryen, Tyrell, and Martell (or the people who killed the Martells, whatever). Not to mention those dragons. So what could possibly put him in mortal danger?

Prescient as Varys is, he’s just as vulnerable as anyone else in battle, moreso because he’s not a fighter. According to SPOILERS, Euron Greyjoy may attack Daenerys’ fleet on the open sea at some point during Season 7. If the ship Varys is on goes down, he could be done for. (Unless that one fan theory pans out.)

I doubt it, though. A guy as clever as Varys would probably plan for such a contingency by inventing the life jacket or something. And call me crazy, but I think Varys still has some role left to play in the story. There will be casualties during Dany’s invasion of Westeros, but we don’t expect Varys to be among them, at least not in Season 7.
