Who’s had the most successful post-Game of Thrones career?

Dean-Charles Chapman

Poor Tommen. He took a swan dive off a building before we got to know him. I guess that’s what happens when you watch your mom kill your wife and in-laws in one fell swoop.

As young as Chapman was while on Game of Thrones, he actually started his acting career back in 2007, appearing in an episode of the British medical show Casualty. He did other work during his stint as Tommen, too, starring in The Revolting World of Stanley Brown and the Starz mini-series The White Queen.

Since he’s no longer on Game of Thrones, Chapman has thrown himself into new film projects. And boy, have those projects been significant. Chapman is currently attached to the film Breathe, based on the life of disability advocate Robin Cavendish. It’ll show up in theaters this fall. Breathe boasts an all-star cast, including Andrew Garfield (Spiderman), Claire Foy (The Crown), Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) and even Dianna Rigg, our very own Olenna Tyrell. Chapman is also filming a thriller called The Commuter alongside acting heavyweights Liam Neeson (Taken), Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring) and Sam Neill (Jurassic Park).  If the young man keeps up this tempo, he’s be well on his way to a long career.

Diana Rigg

Dame Diana Rigg has more than 50 years of acting experience. It’s no wonder that Game of Thrones asked her to play one of the most important roles in the series. As Olenna Tyrell, she made what could’ve been a one-dimensional character come alive with wit and charisma.

Rigg got her start on television as Emma Peel in The Avengers as Emma Peel, as well as roles in Diane and Masterpiece Theatre: Bleak House. She also starred in several movies, such as the James Bond masterpiece On Her Majesty Secret Service and the Golden Globe award -winning The Painted Veil.

Olenna is still trucking on Game of Thrones, but Rigg has kept up with other jobs outside of it. Like Dean-Charles Chapman, she’s starring in Breath, which should make for a fun reunion with her fake grandson-in-law. (Incidentally, Breath marks the directorial debut of Andy Serkis, aka Gollum in The Lord of the Rings. Just like in Game of Thrones, I expect Diana Rigg to steal all the scenes.
