Who’s had the most successful post-Game of Thrones career?

Thomas Brodie-Sangster

Thomas Brodie-Sangster was pretty well-known in the acting world before he arrived on the set of Game of Thrones as Jojen Reed. He already had the acting career Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams and Kit Harington aspired to have. Most remember him as the determined young boy in beloved Christmas films Love Actually and Nanny McPhee. He’d also appeared in dramatic television series Inspector Lewis and Accused.

Since Jojen’s heartbreaking death on Game of Thrones, Brodie-Sangster has kept himself busy with roles in the long-running miniseries Wolf Hall and the Disney animated television series Phineas and Ferb. Sangster also booked himself movie roles in the Maze Runner series and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You can also check him out on the Netflix drama Godless and the Amazon Prime animated series Thunderbirds Are Go.

I think it’s safe to say Sangster is one of the hardest working young actors in Hollywood, and the most versatile. While we don’t get the joy of seeing him on Game of Thrones anymore, there are plenty of other places to find him.

Nathalie Emmanuel

Missandei entered the story of Game of Thrones in season 3, and HBO could not have picked a better actress to play her. Book-readers will know that, in the Song of Ice and Fire series, Missandei is a good deal younger than than she appears on the show, but Nathalie Emmanuel has made it impossible to picture anyone else in the role. Emmanuel has been able to capture both the innocence and intelligence that Missandei is known for on the page.

Game of Thrones was not Emmanuel’s first television series. Her big break came courtesy of the UK television show Hollyoaks. It didn’t take long for the folks at Game of Thrones to take notice. With her unassuming nature but her caring heart, Emmanuel has made Missandei a fan favorite.

Luckily for us, Emmanuel is still on the show, but it hasn’t stopped her from taking other movie and television roles. She recently appeared in the blockbuster The Fate of the Furious, and has a role in the Maze Runner series. For Emmanuel, the second Maze Runner movie — out in 2018 — will be a reunion of sorts when she acts alongside fellow Game of Thrones cast member Thomas Brodie-Sangster. She will start to dip her toe into the sci-fi genre when she appears in The Titan together Sam Worthington, Taylor Schilling and Tom Wilkinson. The film is currently in post-production but does not have a theater release date.

We expect Emmanuel to stay on Game of Thrones to the end, but after filming wraps, anything and everything is possible for her.
