WiC Live: “Dragonstone” Preview and “The Winds of Winter” breakdown
Welcome to the final episode of WiC Live before we dive into season 7. This week, Kayla Knierim and I walk through the final bits of pre-season information before “Dragonstone” airs on Sunday. Topics include:
- What do we make of the episode titles for the first three hours of the season?
- What about the new images, particularly the one of Meera Reed looking like she’s at the end of her rope after dragging Bran Stark through the snow for gods-only-know how many miles?
- And what of the many, many, MANY cast member interviews that have been going around this week? For example, is there anything to Kit Harington’s assertion that the production filmed fake scenes to throw would-be spoiler-hounds off the scent?
All these questions and more are explored and definitively answered. Also we play with a Hand of the Queen bottle opener.
Then, on the final episode of Kayla Knows Nothing, Game of Thrones newbie Kayla reacts to “The Winds of Winter,” the final, explosive episode of Game of Thrones season 6. The discussion is lively, because when Cersei blows up a church, Arya kills Walder Frey, Jon Snow becomes King in the North and Daenerys finally sets sail for Westeros, how could it not be?
After this Sunday, WiC Live will move to its new time at 10:00 am on Monday mornings, so Kayla and I get out our thoughts on every new episode without delay. We’re planning guests, we’re planning giveaways — it should be a good time. As always, we’ll stream our discussion live on the WiC Facebook page. Also, we can’t call the recap segment “Kalya Knows Nothing” anymore, cause she knows everything now. Any suggestions for new names? One commenter suggested “A Song of Dan and Kayla,” which I enjoyed.
Hope to see you guys on Facebook Monday morning! We can’t wait to get into season 7 with you!
