Video: Disaster comes to the North
The Night King took a big step forward in his conquest of Westeros tonight. Let’s roll the tape.
While most of “The Dragon and the Wolf” took place at Winterfell and in King’s Landing, we visited Eastwatch-by-the-Sea for the final act. The Night King and his army had finally made it to the Wall, intent on getting through. At first, it looked like the Wall would stop them, but then an old friend showed up…
Riding the undead Viserion, the Night King spewed blue fire at the Wall, and the Wall came down.
Or at least, a good chuck of it did, enough for his army to cross into Westeros proper, and things will never be the same. And to add insult to injury, he killed Tormund Giantsbane and Beric Dondarrion in the process.
Of course, we now have to wait a year — possibly longer — to find out what happens next. It figures that Game of Thrones would end the season on this monster of a cliffhanger.
Also, Tyrion, Daenerys, and Jon Snow basically share blame for giving the Night King this weapon in the first place. Now let’s see if they can save Westeros from him.
