Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones season 8? Odds on every character
Archmaester Ebrose
Unless he succumbs to old age at some point in the near future, Archmaester Ebrose is going to survive Game of Thrones season 8. Sam’s adventures at the Citadel in season 7 established that the archmaesters, ensconced and comfortable at the Citadel, are slow to care about the goings on in the rest of Westeros, preferring theory to practice. The Citadel’s main concern is the preservation of the Citadel, so unless the army of the dead threatens it directly, the archmaesters probably won’t bestir themselves.
In fact, I doubt we’ll see Archmaester Ebrose at all. That’s actually a little disappointing. Jim Broadbent brought a ton of personality and depth to the role despite limited screen time, but I think our time at Westeros University is over.
