Tormund Giantsbane

Tormund Giantsbane was a fan-favorite character fro the books, and if anything, his show counterpart has become even more beloved. Whether leading a band of wildlings against Castle Black or daydreaming about Brienne, Tormund usually steals any scene he’s in.

As with Beric, we aren’t sure if Tormund survived the Night King’s attack on Eastwatch-by-the-Sea at the end of season 7, but also, yes we do because the show wouldn’t toss off their deaths like that and we didn’t see any bodies. He’ll come back. And when he does, he’ll want to tear it up with the army of the dead, because Tormund is nothing if not a savagely fierce warrior. He went toe to toe with the best the Night’s Watch had to offer, personally killed Smalljon Umber during the Battle of the Bastards, and fought tooth and nail fighting wights beyond the Wall. He’ll be in danger, yes, but he’s prepared for it.

Also, as the last real leader of the freefolk, Tormund needs to survive in order to bring them into a new time of peace and prosperity. Oh, and he needs to lock down that romance with Brienne before White Walkers kill them all.

In fact, I’m going to make a bold prediction here: Tormund Giantsbane will not only survive season 8, he’ll become a great Northern lord as a reward for his loyal service to Jon Snow and House Stark. Here’s hoping.
