Gendry might have taken a few seasons off, but the last Baratheon (bastard) came back in season 7 in fighting shape. Will it be enough to last him the rest of the show?

While Gendry was busy rowing around Dragonstone, we watched as the Baratheon line was snuffed out. In the new world Daenerys is attempting to build, a Baratheon bastard could rise very high. Who’s to say Daenerys won’t legitimize Gendry and reestablish the bond formed by their ancestors, Aegon Targaryen and Orys Baratheon? Bonus: If Gendry gets that promotion, he’ll be noble enough to marry Arya Stark, assuming they’re both into that.

Getting back to his survival, with Gendry having just recently returned to the show, it would be cruel and unusual to off him this quickly. Gendry’s been kept alive for a reason, and it wasn’t just to make that sprint back to the Wall. And how could you kill someone who can run that fast, anyway? Can’t hit what you can’t see.
