Ghost…ah, Ghost. Is there a more aptly named character on the show? Jon Snow’s faithful direwolf hasn’t been seen on the show in any substantial capacity since the beginning of season 6. This has left many of us wondering if he is now, in fact, an actual ghost and Jon Snow simply isn’t telling anyone. I mean, how else do you explain why a literal white wolf isn’t constantly by the side of the man the Northern lords dubbed the White Wolf?

Yes, I know the actual answer to that is money. Dragons cost a lost, but which the CGI budget seems to allow for Dany’s kids and even Arya’s long-lost direwolf Nymeria, Ghost was nowhere to be seen while his master argued embarrassingly with his cousin-sister in public.

I know: Why don’t we just paper the North with missing posters for this guy. “Lost: One All-White Direwolf. Answers to the name Ghost. Likes the taste of human blood and his favorite plush toy, Olly.” In any case, if a character isn’t on the show, he can’t really be killed.
