Listen guys: the news isn’t good for old Grey Worm. Daenerys and crew are heading into the fight of their lives, and as the commander of Dany’s Unsullied forces, expect Grey Worm to be on the front line of every engagement. As the great Tyler Durden once said: “On a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.” (Editor’s note: Seriously?)
Things were looking up for Grey Worm last season after he and Missandei finally acted on their mutual attraction. Surviving the disastrous sack of Casterly Rock was a boon as well, but the army of the undead is a completely different story. And let’s not forget: Should Dany and Jon somehow triumph over the Night King, Cersei will still be lurking about. Season 8 is going to be full of casualties, and Grey Worm can only escape death so many times.
We’d love to be wrong about this, because Grey Worm is one of the few wholly decent and honest characters in this story. His survival just doesn’t seem likely considering the mountain of enemies Daneryes has to face. Sorry, buddy. Should have stayed in Meereen.
