Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones season 8? Odds on every character

I love Cersei Lannister. Well…That sounds strange. I love what Cersei Lannister brings to Game of Thrones. I love how her boundless ambition pushes the story forward, and how she forces characters like Jaime and Tyrion and Sansa and even Daenerys and Jon Snow to wrestle with their choices. I think she’s a huge part of what’s made this show successful, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing her go down in flames.

It’s hard for me to envision a scenario where Cersei survives this series. I mean…it’s possible, and it would certainly be surprising, but it would take a lot of doing to make work. I think Cersei’s journey has been one of the show’s most fascinating, but she’s been setting herself for a huge fall pretty much from the jump, making nothing but enemies and the wrong kind of friends. In one corner there’s Daenerys Targaryen, who commands dragons and to whom Cersei just lied. In another there’s Arya Stark, who’s been vowing to kill Cersei for years. Even Jaime Lannister, Cersei’s own brother and long one of her biggest supporters, has abandoned her, and the Night King wants to kill everyone. Even her allies pose a danger to her; who wants to be in a room alone with Euron Greyjoy?

For all the evil she’s done, Cersei needs to go. And for how entertaining she’s been doing it, she deserves to go in the most epic way possible.
