Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones season 8? Odds on every character

Podrick Payne: Squire to the rich and famous, he of the magical instrument of pleasure. While no one would accuse Podrick of being overly clever, or great with a sword, or even very chatty, he’s somehow managed to survive to the final season of Game of Thrones. Will the squire make it to knighthood? Or will the maidens go weeping from the Wall to Dorne?

Podrick had an uneventful season 7; mainly he just followed Brienne around Westeros while she smacked the crap out of him. Still, that’s better than facing down the army of the dead, which is what he’ll likely be doing once he and Brienne get back to Winterfell come season 8. Brienne will be in the thick of it, which means Podrick will be in the thick of it, which means there will be plenty of opportunities for the both of them to die. And unlike Brienne, Podrick doesn’t have a Valyrian steel sword to defend himself.

But we just can’t bring ourselves to believe that the show would kill off good, affable, kind-hearted Pod, who’s never made an enemy no matter where he’s traveled. Who would want to hurt this guy? Besides everyone, we’re guessing no one. We think Pod will survive the series and get his knighthood, but it’ll be a near thing.
