Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones season 8? Odds on every character
Brienne of Tarth
Brienne of Tarth is the most honorable and loyal character left alive on Game of Thrones. Where most knights would have abandoned an oath to find a dead woman’s daughters after the third or fourth setback, Brienne persisted, even after both those daughters rejected her help. She will be loyal to Sansa and Arya Stark to the end, even onto death.
Is that death likely? With Oathkeeper in hand, Brienne will absolutely be on the front lines of the battle against the White Walkers, defending her charges from harm. We can easily see her throwing herself in front of a wight bound for Sansa, absorbing a blow meant for Arya, or just dying in the thick of battle. If she does die, she’ll die a hero.
On the other hand, since Brienne is so noble and self-sacrificing, it would be a low blow for the show to kill her off. But back on the first hand, this is Game of Thrones we’re talking about — being good and true makes you a target. With all that considered, I think season 8 will be Brienne’s swan song.
