Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones season 8? Odds on every character

Beric Dondarrion has already died on Game of Thrones. Several times, in fact. He’s only kept bouncing back because the Red Priest Thoros of Myr has always been around to resurrect him. But Thoros died in season 7, so Beric is fresh out of second chances. Is it time for him to go down for the last time?

Beric has things left to do before he goes. A champion of the Lord of Light, he’s been fighting a war since season 1, but not the War of the Five Kings. Although it’s only dawned on him recently, he’s been fighting the Great War against the darkness, something that became crystal clear when he came face to face with the Night King and his army. Doing his part in that war is the reason he’s been brought back again and again and again.

But we don’t see him surviving past victory. As a man who has literally laid his life down for his god, you can be sure Beric won’t hesitate to wade into battle against the army of the dead, his sword on fire and a smile on his face. He has nothing left to live for but to die for the cause, and we think that’s the way he wants it.

And really, we don’t even know if Beric lived through the Night King’s attack on the Wall in the season 7 finale, although we didn’t see a body, so we’re betting we see he again in season 8. And if you want to get really technical, isn’t he a walking corpse already?

However you define it, there’s no way Beric “lives” to the end of season 8.
