Drogon
Since he emerged from his egg in the season 1 finale, Drogon has always been his mother’s favorite child. Rapidly outgrowing his siblings, Rhaegal and Viserion, Drogon has taken part in some of the most important moments of Daenerys’ journey, including her escape from Daznak’s Pit in season 5, helping Daenerys cement the loyalty of her Dothraki horde in season 6, and obliterating the Lannister loot train in season 7. He also shared a tender moment with Jon Snow and expressed anger following the death of Viserion, proving he’s more than a one-dimensional machine of death and destruction.
As it stands, Drogon and Rhaegal are Westeros’ best hopes for surviving the coming war with the White Walkers and the army of the dead. If he dies in season 8, humanity is in serious peril, which is exactly what puts him at risk. As in any good story, things are going to have to get worse before they better, and if Daenerys and Jon lose their biggest weapon in the war for the dawn, things could get very bad indeed.
