Game of Thrones characters we’d love to see return from the dead…and some we wouldn’t

Bring him back — Oberyn Martell

“Today is not the day I die.” Blew that call, friend.

Realistically, Oberyn Martell is among the characters on this list least likely to actually make a comeback, since his duel with the Mountain left him without a working head. But such was his charisma that we still yearn to see the Dornish prince go one last round. Despite only appearing in on one season of Game of Thrones, actor Pedro Pascal left a mark, and we’d love to see him light up the screen once again as the Red Viper, fighting on the side of the living as we head into the final showdown with the Night King.

Bringing back Oberyn could also rehabilitate the beating Dorne has taken since his death. Fans were excited to see the desert kingdom heading into season 5, but after seeing Oberyn’s neutered relatives bumble around it for a couple of years, we’d had enough. But if you give Oberyn a Valyrian steel spear and have him lead a charge of Dornish soldiers into battle against the army of the dead, all is forgiven.
