5. Sophie Turner (X-Men)
On Game of Thrones, young actor Sophie Turner is a total knockout. At first, many fans loved to hate Sansa Stark, a spoiled and often selfish daughter of Winterfell. But over time, she grew into someone you could root for. Turner kept step with the chancing story, making Sansa a force to be reckoned with.
It seemed like a natural fit, then, when Turner was cast to play a young Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse. Unfortunately, the film didn’t go over too well. It a meager 48% approval rating from critics on review site Rotten Tomatoes, and audiences didn’t care for it much more. Likewise, Turner’s performance received mix reactions, with some fans saying she brought new life to the role and others that she was one of the weakest parts of the movie.
Whatever your hot take, Turner will return to the role of Jean Grey in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The movie will center largely around her character, which will provide Turner with an opportunity to even out public opinion.
So the pressure is on, but I’m rooting for her! If Turner can make me care about Sansa, she can do the same for Jean Grey. Dark Phoenix hits theaters on Feb. 14 of next year.
