3. The slow and steady pace of the plot

Titans?takes?its time. The first couple of episodes are slow and establish relationships between the characters before the rest of the season delves deeper into the overarching plot. I think this was a good call, because we can only be invested in what the team members go through if we’re first invested in them as people. Otherwise, when the plots starts twisting and the stakes start rising, you’re left wondering why this group of characters cares about each other all of a sudden. On Titans,?everyone has a well-defined motive for wanting to team up.

The show also takes its time introducing the big bad, Trigon. Most of the season was spent trying to escape his cronies. In the meantime, Titans?explores Dick’s issue with?”violence management,” Rachel’s conflict with her literal inner demon, and putting together Kory’s past piece by piece.
