Now there’s a yearly Harry Potter subscription service, and it’s kinda pricey

Muggles, wizards, witches and everyone in between: the Harry Potter franchise has some very exciting news for us all. It’s joining the world of subscription services with a new one called…Wizarding World Gold.

This annual subscription service offers all sorts of treats for the hardcore Harry Potter fan, including all seven books in ebook format, all-new behind-the-scenes videos, collectible items, special event bookings, and discounts that can be used at WizardingWorld.com, the Platform 9 3/4 store in King’s Cross, London, or the Warner Brothers studio store shop in London and Hollywood.

Now, as a Potterhead, I am extremely excited about what this subscription service will offer. But the price…not so much. Wizarding World Gold will cost about $75/year, which seems kinda hefty. Then again, you do get a bunch for it.

And there’s more! Subscribers will?also get their very own personalized interactive journal that will have your name, the Hogwarts house you belong to (Gryffindor forever), unexpected surprises,?and “enchanted keys” that will unlock content through the Wizarding World app.

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I’m always happy for a way to be part of this world. I think this subscription service will provide a lot of fun, assuming they can get past the price. And maybe we’ll get some preferential treatment for those extremely sought-out?Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tickets! If that happens, maybe we’ll be making money.
