See Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) in Killing Eve season 3, and other celebrity stuff
The third season of?Killing Eve?— BBC America’s cat-and-mouse spy drama about MI5 agent Eve (Sandra Oh) and assassin?Villanelle (Jodie Comer) — is debuting early, on April 12. The coronavirus may have shut down production on most movies and TV shows, but it’s good to see some networks trying to fill the gap.
And when?Killing Eve?arrives, it’ll be with some new faces. That includes Geraldine, the very empathetic daughter of the hard-nosed?Carolyn (Fiona Shaw), Eve’s former boss. And playing her is none other than?Gemma Whelan, whom?Game of Thrones?remember as Yara Greyjoy.
Speaking to?Entertainment Weekly, Shaw says that Carolyn’s relationship with her daughter is “disastrous.” Apparently, Geraldine is way too new age-y for her mother. “[I]t’s hilarious because Carolyn is just absolute a red rag to a bull with all of this feeling and self-help and emotional talk. It drives Carolyn mad!?
[Geraldine] hasn?t on the surface anything to do with the family business. That’s not her interest. You’ll find quite quickly that she’s the one who got away. But she comes back and she tries to organize the household in a more organized way, which Carolyn really doesn?t like. It’s good because you get the family dynamic of there is love there but whether there?s actual?like?there is a difficult thing to say. They’re very different people ? put it like that.
Once again,?Killing Eve?debuts on April 12.
And Gemma isn’t the only?Game of Thrones?vet out there getting new gigs. Check out a clip from the horror-drama?The Other Lamb, where?Michiel Huisman (Daario Naharis 2.0) plays a cult leader whose followers are either his wives or daughters…I’m?hoping?not both, nobody needs another Craster situation.
Definitely a yikes from me.?The Other Lamb, which is getting decent reviews, is out now!
Finally, Haf??r J?l?us Bj?rnsson (Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane) is trying to break a deadlift record set back in 2016, and he’s showing us his progress on Twitch, because that’s what quarantine life is like:
That’s?970 pounds, or?440 kilos. Can he break the record of?500 kilos? Tune in to Twitch to find out!
