Stargirl officially joins the Arrowverse as old-school Flash joins season 2
The second season of Stargirl?just got a bit more interesting. According to?Entertainment Weekly, when the series returns later this year, it will feature a guest appearance from Jay Garrick (John Wesley Shipp), who played the old-school Flash on?The Flash.
Shipp has long been a staple of the DC universe, dating back to 1990 when he starred as Barry Allen for two seasons on The Flash?on CBS. And then, of course, he popped up in The CW’s version of?The Flash as Barry Allen’s father, and later as Jay Garrick/The Flash from an alternate universe.
Now, Jay Garrick died during the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline, but this is a superhero show, so there’s always a way for him to come back. Or they could just use a flashback. Either way, the crossover means that?Stargirl?is officially becoming part of the ever-expanding Arrowverse!
I think this will be just the start of cameos and crossovers we’ll see on Stargirl.?No premiere date has been announced for?season 2, but it’s set to return sometime this spring.

And while we’re talking about the Flash, we just today got an update on the upcoming solo Flash movie starring Ezra Miller: according to?Deadline,?The Young and the Restless?star?Sasha Calle will be joining the film in the role of Supergirl.
It’s an interesting time to bring Supergirl onto the big screen, since The CW is preparing to air the final season of its?Supergirl?show this year. Melissa Benoist out. Sasha Calle in.
Director?Andy Muschietti broke the news to Calle and shared the video on his social media. Spoiler alert: Her reaction is?adorable.
Calle auditioned for the part via Zoom, unaware who she was reading for. Calle is set to fly out to the production of?The Flash?soon, and we can’t wait to see her shine as the Woman of Steel.
