When is House of the Dragon season 2?
Good news: As of today, HBO has officially started filming on the second season of?House of the Dragon. The?Game of Thrones?prequel is set well over 100 years before the original show and tells the story of the Dance of the Dragons, a civil war between rival factions of the Targaryen dynasty, then at the height of its power.
When last we left our gang of power-mad incest enthusiasts, Rhaenrya Targaryen was fuming mad after the death of her son Lucerys Velaryon at the hands of her half-brother Aemond Targaryen. Before this, she was trying to avoid all-out war. Now the gloves are coming off.
Those who have read George R.R. Martin’s book?Fire & Blood?know something about what’s coming next. But when will we actually get to see it onscreen?
When is the premiere of House of the Dragon season 2?
Well, we can absolutely rule out?House of the Dragon?season 2 premiering sometime this year. It’s entirely possible that filming on season 2 itself will last into 2024.
But hopefully not that far into 2024.?House of the Dragon?is a complicated show, but we’re hoping that the team will be able to roll out new episodes sometime in the second half of 2024, possibly around August, which is when the first season premiered back in 2022.
We’ve also heard that HBO is considering an early renewal for?House of the Dragon?season 3, meaning that the wait time between seasons could decrease. Yes please!
