Did David Tennant just confirm the return of Doctor Who: Confidential?
David Tennant may have just confirmed the return of?Doctor Who: Confidential. What exactly is that, you ask? It was a behind-the-scenes documentary series that featured cast interviews about the making of the show. Confidential?aired alongside Doctor Who?during the tenures of?Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Matt Smith, a wonderful time for the franchise! The series first premiered in 2005 but was canceled in 2011 as a cost-saving measure by the BBC.
Last week, it was reported that?Doctor Who: Unleashed, the successor to?Confidential, would be premiering alongside the upcoming 60th-anniversary specials. Are all these rumors true? Is this a new era of?Doctor Who?
According to David Tennant, it just might be.
David Tennant may have confirmed the return of behind-the-scenes Doctor Who series
Tennant may have let something slip while speaking to fans about making the upcoming?Doctor Who?specials at?Galaxy Con.?”It was absolutely thrilling”, he said. “It was all filmed by all the various Doctor Who Confidential-style people, so you’ll see all that. But it was very exciting for us, for them to visit us on set.”
Tennant’s comments have the Whoniverse speculating about a potential return for the documentary show. That said, the people Tennant is referring to could have been filming a special feature for a home video release, or even something for social media. It could be anything, but we’re going to hold out hope that the behind-the-scenes Doctor Who?series is coming back!
Doctor Who’s?60th anniversary specials air later this year, complete with Tennant back in the lead role. After that, he’ll turn things over to Ncuti Gatwa. And Russell T Davies, the guy who brought?Doctor Who?back in 2005,?is the showrunner again. It’s a great time to be a Whovian!
