18. Sickly Girl

The sickly Braavosi Girl whose father brought her to the House of Black and White may not have had a name, but she had a face, and a need. After months of demanding to be seated at the grownup’s table, Arya finally got her chance when left alone with the girl and her father; at that moment, she was the only one who could fulfill their request. It may not have been Arya’s first time killing someone, but it was her first time she killed someone deliberately for a reason other than revenge. She did it as a kindness and a way to relieve the girl’s pain.

This was Arya’s first step on the path to serving the Many Faced God. Sadly, the lesson she was supposed to take from this experience didn’t stick, but it doesn’t reduce the impact of the girl’s death on Arya’s development.
