Peter Dinklage wins the Emmy!
Peter Dinklage has scored an Emmy award for Game of Thrones by winning the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama category! Thrones was shut out in their other three categories tonight, but those were all long-shots anyway. Dinklage was our best hope and he pulled it off!
In his acceptance speech, he thanked David Benioff and D.B. Weiss for offering him the role. And thanked HBO for “letting artists create.” He also thanked his dog sitter. It was a good speech, nice and short. Dinklage seemed pretty surprised that he won. Backstage, he gave an even shorter speech on the “thank you cam.” He had a few other things to say to the press as well.
Winter Is Coming: Tyrion for the win!!! Crazy to think that years and years ago, back when this show was just some words on Benioff and Weiss’ hard drives, people were talking about Dinklage getting cast as Tyrion in what could be an Emmy winning performance. And now it has happened. Congrats to Peter! And to all the rest of the cast and crew for making this Emmy award-winning show!
