Game of Thrones nominated for 2 Critics’ Choice Awards
It seems the award nominations are piling up for Game of Thrones! Earlier this week, the show was nominated for two Television Critics Association Awards, and yesterday the Broadcast Television Journalists Association announced nominations for this year’s Critics’ Choice awards, with GoT picking up two nods.
Game of Thrones is once again nominated for Best Drama Series. Last year, the show won the award in a tie with Breaking Bad. The complete list of nominees for Best Drama is:
• The Americans (FX)
• Breaking Bad (AMC)
• Game of Thrones (HBO)
• The Good Wife (CBS)
• Masters of Sex (Showtime)
• True Detective (HBO)
GoT’s second nomination is for actress Diana Rigg, who will be competing for the second year in a row in the category of Best Guest Performer In A Drama Series. In 2013, Rigg lost to Jane Fonda of The Newsroom. Up against a mostly-new batch of nominees this year, will Rigg be able to take the award home? The nominees for Guest Performer in a Drama Series are:
• Beau Bridges, Masters of Sex (Showtime)
• Walton Goggins, Sons of Anarchy (FX)
• Allison Janney, Masters of Sex (Showtime)
• Joe Morton, Scandal (ABC)
• Carrie Preston, The Good Wife (CBS)
• Diana Rigg, Game of Thrones (HBO)
The 4th annual Critics’ Choice Television Awards will be broadcast live on The CW, from the Beverly Hilton Hotel, on June 19th at 8:00pm ET. The awards show will be hosted by comedian Cedric the Entertainer.
