Winterfell Rises Again

After a couple of seasons away from our beloved home in the North, the Game of Thrones production returns to where it all began in Winterfell. As in Season 2, the production is filming in the town of Moneyglass in Northern Ireland. (In Season 1, they filmed at Castle Ward, one of the many historical sites under the guardianship of the National Trust.)

When we last left Winterfell, the Stark ancestral home was burning to the ground, courtesy of Ramsay Bolton, née Snow. Now that Ramsey has a new name, an inheritance and leave to own the place, it looks like it’s time to rebuild. More pictures, via Los Siete Reinos, below.

I suppose the good news is since Winterfell is in the process of being rebuilt, they don’t have to rebuild it all the way after a full season off from this set.

So the real question is–is this the finished set? Because it very well could be.

Meanwhile, it’s good to see the Weirwood still stands. For those looking forward to Bran’s storyline next season, this bodes well.
