Game of Thrones Security Cracks Down at King’s Landing
I’m not going to say I’m surprised.
These are the last three days of filming at King’s Landing, and for those who have guessed what Episode 9 of Season 5 will entail, you can guess what would be left on the shooting docket. If reports are correct, and our friends at SeekNewTravel are right in what was happening today, I would want security to be extra tight for this.

So all reports suggest that Cersei’s walk is going down in King’s Landing. As many outlets have breathlessly reported, regardless of the spoilery nature of it, this involves nudity on the part of one of our show’s biggest stars. When Dubrovnik first got cold feet on allowing this scene to be filmed, I actually hoped that meant they wouldn’t do it at all in public, but would in fact spare Headey and have it done completely on a soundstage. Or at least somewhere where the throngs of Westerosi tourists were going to be hanging out with their cameras.
But as we know, the town relented, and though Cersei’s start at the Great Sept will have to be done on a soundstage, the walk through the streets in front of the gawking Hordes of King’s Landing is indeed happening.
Of course they’re cracking down. Which is a huge shame, because what SeekNewTravel describes sounds tantalizing: “[Cersei’s] hair/wig was a chopped boy cut, and she was wearing what looked like a tattered pink covering; not even a dress.” They also think they have a Lady Olenna sighting. I had thought–much like in the books–that the Queen of Thorn’s role was over. But then again, one does not just drop an actress of Diana Rigg’s caliber if there’s a good reason to keep her around. And any new and extra bon mots from Lady Olenna are going to be welcome indeed.
I doubt we’ll get much better than this today, but I can always be wrong. If you got photos, know someone who did, or find them hiding in a reddit subfolder I’ve left unturned, please let us know. Especially if you have footage of Diana Rigg. I cannot express how much I want physical proof she’ll be back next season, and even better and spectator to this scene.
