From Osuna, the fashions of Meereen

With Seville in such tight lock down at the beginning of the month, all the reporters on the Game of Thrones beat, including Getty photographers, hit Osuna this month in hopes of getting better shots.

Turned out the principles are being held back. Most of our pictures come from the one day they filming in the fighting pit, but with 550 local extras, it was very easy to get lots of pictures of them heading to and from production in costume. We’ve been blessed with a couple so far. This latest batch from The Slanted are another set of great close ups of Meereenese fashions.

Nothing really spoilery below, don’t worry.

If you look up, you can see are from the day the green screen collapsed.

I love this picture so much. He’s a slave, covered in blood, maybe from the fighting pit, but wearing trendy glasses. Behind him, an elaborate facial jewelry piece.

I also love the juxtaposition of soldiers here.

It’s good to see that the costumes are getting more varied with fabrics with patterns instead of just solids. (I do wonder why Meereen seems devoid of purple and red dyes though.) Interesting to note that the facial jewelry is not limited to those who wear sashes. None of these guys have the high born woven sash look–though they are clearly of the wealthier set.

The facial jewelry is Amazing. If HBO knows whats good for it, they’ll find a way to merchandize that.

Maybe not so much the scarf and rings look. Though it will make for an easy Meereenese Halloween costume, if you’re still trying to decide what Game of Thrones related character you want to be.

This look is slightly less elaborate than some of the ones above, but that also makes it a little easier to see her face. I wonder if we’ll be lucky enough to see Dany sport one, as she tries to become more of one with the general populace?

Awww, ice cream at the end of a hard day of sitting out in the sun getting filmed. Even Meereenese like their cold dairy treats. It’s so cute!
