Quick Hits: VFX company added, Dothraki creator interviewed

Here are two quick updates from the world of Thrones on this Monday morning:

Ran over at Westeros discovered that the company that will be responsible for the visual effects work on Game of Thrones appears to be the London-based BlueBolt. BlueBolt is a newer company that has been behind the visual effects for recent films such as Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Sherlock Holmes, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. In addition, it looks as if the VFX producer for this first season will be Paddy Kelly, whose past credits include Avatar, The Golden Compass, and Harry Potter.

Also, David J. Peterson, creator of the Dothraki language was interviewed recently by the magazine Usona Esperanto. He talks more about his background, his inspiration for the Dothraki language and gives us a few more Dothraki words. In an extended version of the interview, Sai, the founder of the Language Creation Society gives more details into how HBO got in contact with the LCS to assist in creating Dothraki and how the selection process took place.

Lastly, for those based in the UK, don’t forget that this Thursday at 6 PM is the get-together (aka moot) with George R. R. Martin in Belfast.
