Game of Thrones takes over Entertainment Weekly

Game of Thrones is the focus of Entertainment Weekly, this week, as the magazine has 4 different collectible covers featuring Jon Snow, Tyrion, Arya, and the Breaker of Chains herself, Daenerys Targaryen. EW has devoted what they are calling an “unprecedented 30 pages of this week’s issue to exploring the past, present, and future of Game of Thrones”.

See the covers and learn more about what’s inside, after the jump.

Entertainment Weekly joined the cast and crew of Game of Thrones for an all-access behind the scenes look at the show.

“EW undertook an epic adventure to join the fantasy hit’s cast and crew for a globe-trotting all-access tour of Westeros and Essos to discover how the acclaimed mega-production pulls off bringing author George R.R. Martin’s savage world to life—and what new twists season 5 has in store.”

First up, we have Dany (Emilia Clarke), looking stunning in a blue dress. That dragon mantle looks amazing and fitting for the Mother of Dragons.

Next, Arya. It’s really neat to see how much Maisie Williams has grown up before our very eyes. This is the new “Braavosi look” for Arya.

Peter Dinklage as Tyrion, rocking the full beard…finally.

And last but not least, Kit Harington as Jon Snow. Jon looks battle-hardened on this cover. I like how the eye is drawn to his sword, Longclaw.

In their announcement, EW has a great quote from David Benioff, which should excite fans of the show:

“Worlds are colliding. One of the things we’ve been most excited about from the beginning of the series is we’ve had all these far-flung story lines across Westeros and Essos which almost never cross. Now some of these characters start to head on a collision course for each other.”

The magazine even talks about the body count this season, how we will have surprise deaths, and three weddings!

“Characters that are still alive in the books will die this season (don’t worry, our coverage is spoiler-free). Key storylines will deviate from Martin’s narrative in controversial ways. There’s even another wedding. Or two. Actually three (gulp!).”

Personally, I really like how EW includes each character’s House symbol. The direwolf for Jon and Arya, the dragons for Dany, and the lion for Tyrion. I know I’ll be collecting all four!
