Sky Atlantic to join Game of Thrones simulcast
One of the biggest disappointments for Game of Thrones fans living in the UK this season has been the fact that they have been left out of the 170 country-wide simulcast. Well, things are about to get a little better, as Sky Atlantic has announced via their Twitter account that they will make country 171.
We’ve had a word with the boss and from next Monday #GameOfThrones will be simulcast at 2am #GoTAtlantic pic.twitter.com/9XqMZbeytG

Starting next Monday, Game of Thrones will air at 2 a.m. on Sky Atlantic, which means that UK viewers will be able to watch the show at the same time as the rest of us…or at least the 170 other countries already involved. Have to be up early on Monday morning? That’s okay, because The Independent notes that Game of Thrones will be available on Demand for folks who aren’t very excited at the prospect of staying up that late.
Rumor, not to mention common sense, has it that the leak of the first 4 episodes of Season 5 online is the reason that Sky Atlantic has reconciled with HBO and made this happen. Despite the record-shattering number of illegal downloads, Game of Thrones still surpassed the mark set by the last season premiere, hauling in an astounding 8 million viewers.
Celebrate, UK Game of Thrones fans: you don’t have to shun all of social media until after Mondays!
