Winter is Coming Live Recap: High Sparrow
Welcome back to another edition of WiC Live, where our panel of Game of Thrones experts (or at least those good-looking enough to step in front of a camera) break down the latest episode. This week, Alison, Adam, and Xavier discuss “High Sparrow.” They consider Arya’s adventures in the House of Black and White, Sansa’s adventures in Winterfell, Margaery’s adventures in passive-aggression, and more! They also answered the questions you guys tweeted to #WiC. Keep doing that, by the by. Anyway, let us begin. Those who haven’t seen “High Sparrow” should not watch, as the episode will be spoiled. As we did last time, we’ve broken down some choice sections of the WiC Live recap so they can be quickly consumed on the bus, train, elevator, or in the car at a long stoplight. Actually, don’t do that last one. In the first clip, the team answers a reader question about Cersei and Margaery. Does Cersei’s confrontation with the little queen have anything to do with the witch’s prophesy from the Season 5 premiere?
One of the biggest surprises from “High Sparrow” was Sansa’s return to Winterfell. The girl has been through so much, and now she’s engaged to marry perhaps the only guy in Westeros who could convincingly claim to be crazier than Joffrey. The team debates what this means, what game Littlefinger is playing, and whether Sansa and Ramsay will have a long and happy marriage. Smart money’s on no.
Thanks to Entertainment Weekly for backing the show this year, and to Alison Haislip for wearing that awesome map dress. Until next week, let us know what you think about these questions and talking points.
