Sam and Gilly talk about being Westeros’ “hottest couple” on SNL

Saturday Night Live has mined Game of Thrones for material before, and as the show continues to be the hottest cable offering around, it’s only natural that the SNL writers have gone back for more. On last night’s episode, none other than Samwell Tarly and Gilly stopped by Weekend Update to talk with Colin Jost about what it’s like to be Westeros’ “hottest couple.”

Okay, so the sketch is basically an extended mediation on how unattractive Sam and Gilly are, but Bobby Moynihan and Vanessa Bayer still tear into their parts. I particularly liked all of Moynihan’s panicked grimaces, even though they don’t seem terribly Sam-like. Also: “I’ve been mistaken for Jon Snow from very, very far away, and also I’ve been mistaken for a large pile of clothes and the entrance to a cave.”

So now that we’ve seen this, what do we think is funnier, Sam and Gilly’s appearance or the Game of Thrones/Boyz in the Hood mashup SNL ran a few week’s ago?
