Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones Season 7? Odds on 50 characters
Ghost
I’m firmly in the camp that the remaining Starks will live to see the other side of the war. And as an honorary Stark, Ghost fits that bill. He and Nymeria (assumably) are all that’s left of the wolves, and I think they’ll play a bigger role going forward. There’s a reason the Stark men discovered the direwolves way back in Season 1. Even if there is no grander plan for the wolves, like I said, I’m calling Ghost safe on the grounds of his family name.
The rest of the pack all died with a purpose. Lady had to go for the sake of Sansa’s storyline. If she had stuck around, anyone who put their hands on Sansa would have been ripped to shreds. Grey Wind died in the massacre that took so many Starks and their men. If Arya and the Hound had arrived earlier, perhaps Grey Wind would have survived the Red Wedding but, alas, it’s too late for that now. Shaggydog went as a precaution, so the Umbers could successfully pass Rickon off as a hostage (I will speak no more on that, it’s too upsetting). I’m actually not quite sure why Summer had to get the axe, but I have a feeling Bran’s ensuing story will lend some insight into that.
At the end of it, it seems to me that there’s simply no reason for Ghost to die. Call it potential fan service if you will, but not everything can be all death and tragedy all the time. Not even on Game of Thrones.
Also, now that Wun Wun isn’t around to eat up the CGI budget, the team might as well go hog-wild on Ghost!
Chance of survival: 90%
