Jaime and Cersei Season 6 official

10. Jaime and Cersei

Jaime and Cersei are one the longest-lasting couples we’ve seen on the show, and also one of the most twisted. First, there’s the obvious: they’re brother and sister, and that’s super weird. But beyond that, these two play all kind of strange mind games. Cersei is deeply manipulative of Jaime, berating him for imagined slights and seducing him when she needs something. Jaime, meanwhile, can be abusive, and even forced himself on Cersei next to the the dead body of their son in season 4’s “Breaker of Chains.” Their relationship is just all sorts of sick.

And yet neither seems willing to break it off. And they have supported each other, as when they worked together to bring down the High Sparrow over the course of season 6. They’re so intwined in each other’s affairs that it may be difficult for either of them to picture a life without the other.

That may change going into season 7, if that grim look Jaime gave Cersei in “The Winds of Winter” is any indication. Codependent or not, Cersei’s plan to blow a hole in the center of King’s Landing and kill innocent civilians could put a serious crimp on their future romantic prospects. And that’s probably for the best.
