Who’s going to die in Game of Thrones season 8? Odds on every character

Characters are going to die in the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones. HBO executives have basically told us that we’re in for a bloodbath, but they needn’t have bothered. Of COURSE people are gonna die. This show has become famous for killing one beloved character after another, from Ned to Robb to Catelyn to Oberyn to Tywin to Stannis to Hodor to Margaery to Olenna and beyond. And in the final season, even characters who’ve beaten the odds have targets on their backs. So it’s not a question of whether characters will die. It’s a question of which ones.

With a cast this big, there are plenty of options. We’ve gone through every character who stands a chance of appearing in season 8 — major and minor, human and animal — and made our best guesses as to how likely they are to bite it before the curtain falls. The Great War is coming, and it’s going to rip through Westeros like a hurricane. Some will rise and some will fall. We just hope we have the stamina to see it through.
