Game of Thrones ratings rise in US and UK

Onward and upward! For the second straight week, the number of viewers of Game of Thrones‘ initial airing has increased. James Hibberd has the scoop:

HBO’s Game of Thrones inched upward in the ratings for the second week in a row.
The 9 p.m. airing was seen by 2.5 million viewers, up slightly from last week’s 2.4 million. This is yet another positive sign for the fantasy series, climbing in the numbers despite the show’s story pace lessening a bit the previous week. The show’s action kicks into high gear starting on Sunday’s fifth episode, which could result in Thrones gaining even more traction in the weeks to come, just like True Blood its first year.

And in the UK, the numbers have risen as well. Digital Spy reports that this week’s episode was watched by 628k viewers, which is up 23% from last week.

Winter Is Coming: Great news! Hopefully those numbers continue to climb… and I think they will as this show really amps up over the next couple weeks.
