Kit Harington: No One Is Safe, Not Even Jon Snow
Jon Snow may know nothing, but Kit Harington has a leg up on him. He knows one thing for certain about the show he’s working on—no one is safe, not even him.
Speaking to The Huffington Post earlier this week, Harington warned viewers not to get complacent—as if that were somehow going to be an issue, after seeing humanity’s doom in the form of the army of the dead last Sunday.
“I think that’s the thrilling thing about the TV show, is that we really don’t fit by the norms and people are in danger and horrible things do happen to people and we don’t shy away from that,” Harington said. “You can’t count on Jon Snow being safe or Tyrion being safe or anyone being safe, so it keeps people on the edge of their seat, and that’s why it’s good drama.”
One thing we do know—until he does find himself taking that walk with Benioff and Weiss, he’ll be stuck wearing his hair long. Fans freaked out a little when they saw him in his newest movie Testament of Youth with a much shorter, period hairstyle. But due to contractual obligations, that had to be a wig.
As for his own fate, most fans hold on to hope that Harington, like the rest of the cast, has been signed through Season 7 last fall. Try not to think about how little good being signed did characters like Ser Barristan though. And clearly, whatever is coming up must weigh heavily on Harington’s mind. He can’t even bring himself to smile during a night out with the boys after a good massacre.
Kit himself won’t spill any details, despite rampant speculation he might be the next to go.
“I really enjoyed watching this season. It’s been a really testing and challenging season and those building blocks that have been placed are going to really come to fruition with these last three. They’re really big episodes, and I can’t wait,” he explained. “Other than that, I’m not going to say what happens, but there are some huge shocks some huge set pieces — it’s going to be epic. I can’t tell you what shocks they involve or who they involve, but you’ll enjoy it.”
