First up, we have news from the brand new location of Girona, which is far to the east of last year’s filming locations of Osuna and Seville. Local outlet AraGirona.cat has announced that auditions for local actors and extras will take place this July. That’s earlier than auditions for extras were in Osuna—those auditions happened in September for an October filming, so if this report is accurate, filming in Girona could be taking place as early as August. Another local outlet, Diariosur.es, reports that these auditions with be done via Modexpor Internacional, which is the organization responsible for last year’s Spanish auditions.

Further reports about filming in Girona speculate exactly where in the city shooting will take place. Los Siete Reinos, who were indispensable last year for this sort of thing, report on the following locations as considered: (First in the original and then the roughly translated Spanish)

LSR also reports that the show has been scouting a desert locale in Navarre, Spain. The region of Navarre is located to the northwest of Girona, with the major city of Pamplona in the center of it. Reportedly, the production has taken an interest in Bardenas Reales Natural Park, due south of the city. The park features some striking desert regions, which could be used for Dornish locations that aren’t the Water Gardens. Or if they’re looking for new destinations for Dany to hit up in Essos, these could make for striking and cinematic spaces.
