24. The Sand Snakes’ Finale Looks

Dorne was a problem in the books, and despite the show’s best efforts, Dorne remained a problem on the show. The Sand Snakes made a striking team visually, but they went over like a lead balloon dramatically. A perfect example—these three looks they wore in the finale. One can see what Clapton was going for—the oldest daughter is literally wearing Oberyn drag, and the other two are wearing girly dresses like Myrcella had on all season, which look both awkward and ill-fitting on them. It was a striking image, but the impression it left was far too on the nose for it’s own good.
