Character Overview: Ros is a lady of negotiable affection from King’s Landing, a character invented for the series (built on an unnamed “red-haired whore” mentioned in the books). She says she grew up in the town outside of Winterfell, and remembers the day Sansa Stark was born. She is literate, which is uncommon for prostitutes. –GoTWikia
Recent Events: Ros has pre-existing ties to several characters, including Tyrion Lannister and Theon Greyjoy, who have both enjoyed her company, and Jon Snow, who once paid for her time but utlimately decided not to have sex with her out of fear of fathering a bastard. Ros eventually departs Winterfell for employment in King’s Landing; she is quickly picked up by Littlefinger for one of his brothels in the city. As a highly skilled worker, Ros takes on an instructive role at the brothel. This position of power leaves her witness to some of the more dangerous aspects of life in King’s Landing, including the seizing of one of Robert Baratheon’s bastards; she herself is made to kill one of her own proteges at the point of a crossbow by Joffrey Baratheon, who was given the two prostitutes as a nameday gift by Tyrion. She is then captured and wounded by Cersei Lannister, who believes her to be Tyrion’s paramour. In fact, the woman Cersei is looking for is Shae; both Tyrion and Ros play out Cersei’s ruse in order to protect themselves (and Shae, in Tyrion’s case). Soon after the Battle of Blackwater, Ros is freed and shortly recruited by Varys as a spy against Littlefinger.
Ros tells Shae to look out for Sansa, remembering the day the Stark girl was born in Winterfell. She assists Tyrion in a small capacity as he takes on the role of Master of Coin, but she continues to spy on Littlefinger for Varys, revealing to the eunuch Littlefinger’s plans to steal Sansa away from King’s Landing. Littlefinger soon discovers that Ros is spying on him for Varys and gives her to Joffrey, who brutally murders her.
Actor Bio: English born and raised, Esmé Bianco has been a natural performer all her life, busy with modeling, cabaret, acting, and singing. She is a trained dancer and actress, has been on stage in one way or another as long as she can remember, and has a BA in Drama and Theatre Arts from the renowned Goldsmith’s College.
