Recent Events: When Robb’s father Ned is beheaded by Joffrey Baratheon, Robb takes up arms against the Lannister family, leading an army of Northerners to war against them. Boosted by the circulating rumors of Joffrey’s origins as a child of incest and by his skill in combat, the Northerners deem him “the King in the North”. He falls in love with a field nurse, Talisa, and in a rash move, marries her. This breaks a promised marriage vow with the Freys set by Robb’s mother, Catelyn. To reconcile the issue, Catelyn’s brother Edmure is promised to marry one of Lord Frey’s daughters. However, at the wedding, the Freys proceed to murder both Robb and Catelyn as well as the vast majority of their army and followers, as Lord Frey had made a deal with Tywin Lannister.
Actor Bio: Born in Scotland, Richard Madden is a young actor who has done a lot of work in English theatre, including the role of Romeo in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, with some very positive reviews. In 2009 he appeared in the British crime drama Hope Springs. Esquire magazine listed him as one of Britain’s hot young actors. –GRRM
Madden appeared in French drama film A Promise in 2013 and as Bill Haskell in the TV miniseries Klondike in 2014. He will portray Prince Charming in the upcoming Disney/Kenneth Branagh film Cinderella.
