Actor Bio: Kate Dickie is a Scottish actress who has appeared in TV series, stage plays, and movies. At an early age she discovered her passion for acting. She went to college in Kirkcaldy to study for a national certificate in drama. In 1990, she won a place at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Dickie started to work in theatre and had the opportunity to perform with some of Scotland’s best companies. She finally achieved her breakthrough in 2000 when she played a role in an episode of the BBC Scotland series Tinsel Town. She is best-known for her portrayal of the security camera operative Jackie in her film debut Red Road, directed by Andrea Arnold, and for which she was given several awards as best actress, among others a BAFTA Scotland Award and a British Independent Film Award in 2006. Dickie recently appeared as Agnes in the Starz miniseries Pillars of the Earth. – Wikipedia
