Character Overview: Hodor is a simple-minded giant who works as a stableboy at Winterfell. He is Old Nan’s grandson or great-grandson. Though his true name is Walder, he is usually called “Hodor” because that is the only word he ever says. He has a friendly, childish disposition and is easily frightened despite his great strength. – Wikipedia

Recent Events: After Bran’s paralyzing fall, Hodor essentially becomes Bran’s personal servant, carrying the young prince around on his back and tending to any of his needs. As such, Hodor is present for many of the major events in Bran’s life, from the departure of Robb Stark (leaving Bran in charge of Winterfell) to the subsequent ransackings of the North by first Theon Greyjoy, then the Boltons under the command of Roose and his sadistic bastard son Ramsay. He hides with Bran, Rickon, Osha, Jojen and Meera Reed, and Maester Luwin during these attacks, then helps Bran on his journey beyond the Wall. Bran sometimes wargs into Hodor in order to calm him or to save his life; Hodor dislikes this, so Bran tries to do it as little as possible. Nonetheless, Hodor’s strength helps figuratively carry the company to their destination, an enormous white tree somewhere far north of the Wall.
