Character Overview: Shae is a young camp follower, a prostitute in the camp of Lannister armies. In the books, she is described as short and very pretty, with large dark eyes and black hair –AWOIAF
Recent Events: Shae travels with Tyrion to King’s Landing, initially undercover with the help of Varys, then as Sansa’s handmaiden. Secretly, she and Tyrion continue to have a relationship, despite Cersei constantly threatening Tyrion, looking for ways to undermine his rule as temporary Hand of the King. Shae feels threatened when Tyrion is forced to marry Sansa; after the Red Wedding, fearing for her safety, Tyrion attempts to send Shae away, speaking harshly to her in order to break off their relationship. However, Shae is brought back to testify at Tyrion’s trial (for the murder of Joffrey Baratheon, of which he is innocent) where she relates a twisted version of the events in their relationship. Later, as Tyrion is escaping King’s Landing, he finds Shae in his father’s bed, and kills her as revenge for her actions in his trial.
Actor Bio: Sibel Kekilli is an award-winning German actress of Turkish origin, who gained public attention after starring in the 2004 film Gegen die Wand (Head-On). She has twice won the highest German movie award Lola Prize.
She has continued to star in a variety of films, and in 2010 she began a recurring role as Sarah Brandt on the long-running German-language police procedural Tatort. – Wikipedia
